During Open House Chicago, the Poetry Foundation will feature an audio installation created by Silvain Gire and Samuel Hirsch from ARTE Radio. C’est la Ville!: Urban Voices from Paris and Chicago will match/rub/clash city sounds and voices from Paris and Chicago. Against a backdrop of trains, crowds and parks six poets from the two cities will emerge. Three artists who work with la Maison de la Poésie in Paris, Oxmo Puccino, Kacem Wapalek, and L (Raphaëlle Lannadère), and three who work with the Poetry Foundation in Chicago, Kristiana Rae Colón, Jacob Saenz, and Kush Thompson, were welcomed into a studio to speak, sing, rap or whisper two short texts for the installation.  The audio exhibit will also be presented at La Maison de la Poésie in Paris.

The Poetry Foundation and the Consulat Général de France will co-host a reception on Saturday, October 18th from 4:00PM to 6:00PM, featuring informal remarks by architect John Ronan, along with writer and co-founder of ARTE Radio Silvain Gire.

All 1,900 sound creations are available on http://arteradio.com.
