Embargo

the u.s. is—

not

my fair scapegoat.

shame

my spoiled complicity 

in all its patriot blush,

and behold our life,

seed of bilateral strife.

and underneath

your town’s gravel,

i intervene
cuba is

my home,

i know

when i look

in clean glass,

its brown skin sheen,

see me;

look out

the island’s windows,

inside your shops, i’m there,

too
