Rose Zinnia
Rose Zinnia was born in Akron, Ohio. Zinnia is the author of the chapbook Togethering (Ledge Mule Press, 2024) and is the recipient of the 2022 Ninth Letter Literary Award, the 2022 Vera Meyer Strube Award from the Academy of American Poets, and the 2021 Kraft-Kinsey Award from the Kinsey Institute. Her writing appears in New Ohio Review, Foglifter, The Journal, Gulf Coast, Sycamore Review, Split This Rock, The Academy of American Poets Poem-A-Day, Ninth Letter, West Branch, and other journals.
Zinnia’s fiction and poetry have been supported by residencies and workshops at Banff Centre for the Arts, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, and Tin House Writers Workshop. She taught creative writing and literary editing/publishing at Indiana University, where she received her MFA in Creative Writing.
Zinnia is the founder, editor-in-chief, and art director for Monster House Press and the journal poiesis. She was co-organizer of two award-winning reading series: Monster House Presents and SYZYGY. She has also served as associate editor at Indiana Review and as a screener for the Donald Hall Prize for Poetry. She lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a graphic designer and community assistant at Foglifter Journal.
