Sean Singer

B. 1974

Sean Singer is an American poet born in Guadalajara, Mexico. He is the author of Today in the Taxi (Tupelo Press, 2022), which won the 2022 National Jewish Book Award for poetry; Honey & Smoke (Eyewear Publishing, 2015); and Discography (Yale University Press, 2002), which won the a 2003 Norma Farber First Book Award and the 2001 Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize.

Singer earned an MFA from Washington University in St. Louis and a PhD in American studies from Rutgers University–Newark. He has been awarded fellowships and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Mass Cultural Council. He lives in New York City.
