Tatiana de la Tierra

Tatiana de la Tierra was a Latina lesbian poet, editor, and activist. Born in Villavicencio, Colombia, in 1961, her family immigrated to the United States in 1969. She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at El Paso and a MS in Library Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Tatiana de la Tierra is the author of the book For the Hard Ones: A Lesbian Phenomenology / Para las Duras: Una Fenomenología Lesbiana (Calaca Press/Chibcha Press, 2002) and the chapbooks Porcupine Love and Other Tales from My Papaya and Píntame Una Mujer Peligrosa. Her writing has also been published in journals, including the Cimarron Review, El AndarFlyway, and La Revista Calaca, and in the anthologies Bend, Don't Shatter: Poets on the Beginning of Desire (Soft Skull Press, 2004) and Ultimate Lesbian Erotica 2005 (Alyson Publications, 2004), among others.

She was the founder and editor of the magazines Esto No Tiene Nombre, Conmoción, and La Telaraña, aimed at Latina lesbians. She died in 2012 in Long Beach, California.
