TC Tolbert often identifies as a trans and genderqueer feminist, collaborator, mover, and poet and really just a human in love with humans doing human things. The author of Gephyromania (Ahsahta Press 2014), Turning to Hear the Last Leaves of Stargazer Fall (Rinky Dink Press, micro-chap, 2018), Conditions/Conditioning (a collaborative chapbook with Jen Hofer, New Lights Press 2014) I: Not He: Not I (Pity Milk chapbook 2014), spirare (Belladonna* chaplet 2012), and territories of folding (Kore Press chapbook 2011), Tolbert is also co-editor of Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics (Nightboat Books 2013), along with Trace Peterson. TC is a certified Wilderness EMT and spends summers leading wilderness trips for Outward Bound. Tolbert was recently awarded an Academy of American Poets’ Laureate Fellowship for work with trans, non-binary, and queer folks as Tucson’s Poet Laureate. TC is Writer in Residence at Pratt Institute, 2019 to 2020. Tolbert is the poet laureate of Tucson, Arizona, where TC lives.
